Suffolk County Legislative District 7

The 7th Suffolk County Legislative District (L.D.) includes Patchogue, East Patchogue, North Patchogue, Medford and Gordon Heights. Smaller portions of Blue Point, North Bellport, Middle Island, Coram, Yaphank,  and Fire Island are also included in the District. The District runs north to Middle Country Road and includes the southern shoreline within the following rough boundaries: Blue Point Avenue to the west and the Bellport Village line to the east.

The 51 election districts and 43,6305 registered voters in the 7th L.D. are located within the Town of Brookhaven.

About Dominick

Dominick was first elected to office on November 2, 2021 and took the official oath of office on January 3, 2022. He was selected to serve as the Vice Chair on the Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Medical Services & Preparedness committee.

Dominick is a life-long Long Island resident, residing in Patchogue Village since the 1980s. Thorne has spent nearly 30 years in the local fire and EMS services and has made it his mission to put people first. 

Upon moving to the Patchogue area, he joined the North Patchogue Fire Department as an EMT-critical care tech in 1990, where he served as captain of Emergency Medical Services for 10 years.

Dominick worked for over six years at the Suffolk County Board of Elections, serving as the training coordinator there.

Legislator Thorne lives with his wife, Barbara, and two young daughters.
