
Suffolk County Legislative District 18
The 18th legislative district encompasses the northern portion of Huntington Township. The district includes the communities of Cold Spring Harbor, Greenlawn, Lloyd Harbor, Huntington, Halesite, Huntington Bay, Centerport, Northport, Asharoken and Eaton's Neck. Its southern border includes a portion of Huntington Station, Elwood, and a small section of East Northport. Historic Route 25A winds its way through the district, which was once rolling farmland. Now it is a thriving community, offering a wide variety of living and working environments.

About Legislator Stephani Bontempi
Legislator Stephanie Bontempi, 18th L.D., an immigrant from Sweden and a naturalized citizen, has been a Huntington resident for almost 30 years. She is a former educator who has taught elementary education at the Cold Spring Harbor Central School District, East Woods School in Oyster Bay and most recently at The Green Vale School in Old Brookville, where she had been teaching for the past 15 years until her election to the Suffolk County Legislature.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities at the Green Vale School, Stephanie sat on the Admissions and Diversity Equity and Inclusion committees.
Through the years, Stephanie has been active in many local community and charitable organizations, including the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce, the Townwide Fund of Huntington, Lions Club International, and is a former Chairperson of the Town of Huntington Beautification Advisory Council.
Stephanie holds a B.S./B.A. in Economics/Finance from the University of Hartford, Connecticut, an M.S. in Elementary Education from C.W. Post, Long Island University, and an M.S. in Educational Technology from L.I.U. Post, Long Island University. In addition, Stephanie is fluent in Swedish and French and maintains dual citizenships (American & Swedish). She resides in Centerport with her husband and their youngest child.
