About Legislator Pilip

Legislator Pilip, a Great Neck resident, works as an operations manager with her husband in their doctor’s office. Her campaign for Nassau County Legislature District 10 office was her first bid for public office. She ran on the Republican and Conservative Party lines.

Born in Ethiopia during a civil war, she and her family moved to Israel in 1991 when she was 12 years old. She was a paratrooper and gunsmith during her two years in the Israel Defense Forces, earned a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy from Haifa University and a master’s degree in diplomacy and security from Tel Aviv University.

Legislator Pilip’s campaign expressed interest in reducing taxes and bringing in outside experts to look for possible revaluation errors and determine the best methods of valuing properties. Legislator Pilip wants to be a “bridge” in race and religious relations. She also wants to work with police and prosecutors to raise public awareness, building on her past advocacy work between Jewish and non-Jewish communities.
